Albert Calsamiglia was the first Professor of Philosophy of Law at Pompeu Fabra University, as well as a founding member and Vice-President of the institution. From the very start, he worked to create a vibrant research community, able to compete at the international level and to contribute to academic discussions to the highest standards of excellence. He contributed to bringing leading European and American philosophers and jurists to the university, as well as to encouraging young philosophers to complete their training in the best foreign universities. Unfortunately, due to an unexpected illness he died in 2001 when he was only 51 years old.
The LMPGC organising committee wishes to honour Albert Calsamigla’s memory by naming after him an award for the best paper presented at the conference. The winner will be chosen by the organizing committee and announced at the end of the event.
