 The activity proposed constitutes the first edition of “En teoría hay mujeres (en teoría)”, a congress in legal theory in which all the speakers are women. Women are underrepresented in legal theory and this is the reason why we think that it makes sense to organize an event where all speakers are women only. The aim is to contribute to the visibility of women in the field and help to create a network for future collaborations.

 This congress is open to everybody, i.e., students, professors, and professionals, who are interested in analysing different theoretical aspects related to law, e.g. legal interpretation, evidence or problems of gender in the law.

 The shortened name for the Congress for communicative purposes (Twitter, Facebook, and mailing) is “En teoría hay mujeres” ("There are Women in Theory").

 The congress will last two days and the guest speakers are from different Universities in Argentina, Chile, Spain, Italy and the United Kingdom.  The conference will close with a keynote delivered by Adele Mercier (Canada) who will talk  about the visibility of women in the academy.  The number of panels, participants and the schedule is detailed in the program attached.

 The objectives of this activity are the following:

 •  To promote the visibility of women who are involved in legal theory.

 •  To promote the creation of networking relations among women in legal theory. 

 •  To put the UPF as university of reference, not only with respect to legal theory but also to issues related to gender. 

 •  To promote an active intervention in the discussions of young legal philosophers.
