The topic of the event will be Branded Content and the Future of Advertising. The future of advertising has been a commonplace place of academic discussion in the last decades. These discussions have usually concluded with remarks on the hybridization of genres, formats and fields. In this regard, branded content is a paramount hybrid territory in which strategic communication and branding dialogue with the fields of advertising, entertainment and journalism. It is also today one the most sound, prevalent and contemporary intersections between academy, profession and society in the field of branding and advertising. The objective of this conference is to give some clarifying insights on branded content research, as well inspire new ideas and discussion on new forms of advertising: What is the theoretical and methodological approach to branded content? How is branded content being practiced in the profession? Is branded content a specific territory or an all-encompassing field that may imbue traditional advertising? How does branded content integrate into the models of transmedia literacy and horizontal dynamic brand-consumer interaction?
